Russ' Donuts was in a small warehouse behind Lexington Park on Highland Rd. They weren't open to the public, but if you banged on the back door, Razor Ramon or at least a guy that looked enough like Razor Ramon that we nicknamed him that, would sell you donuts for $.25. It was a 12 year olds paradise, plus it made the whole neighborhood smell like fresh donuts.
My go to was Jelly, these days I liked the chocolate frosted. Not the glazed with chocolate frosting, the chocolate cake donut. Also, RIP Verna's on Mass Ave in Cambridge. Honey Tips all day.
